School Library Monthly Advisory Board

The function of the School Library Monthly Advisory Board is to help maintain and advance SLM as a professional magazine for school librarians. The board members will assist in insuring that SLM addresses current trends and offers ongoing, timely information and strategies that can be used by school library professionals K-12. The following school library professionals are serving on the SLM Advisory Board:

Carolyn S. Brodie Carolyn S. Brodie, Ph.D., is a professor at the School of Library and Information Science, Kent State University, Kent, Ohio; the Reinberger Children's Library Center & Marantz Picturebook Collection Director; and the Virginia Hamilton Conference Director. She is also the ALSC 2012-2013 president.
Gail Bush Gail Bush, Ph.D., is Professor Emerita, from National Louis University, Chicago, Illinois, where she served as professor in the college of education, director of the school library program, and director of the Center for Teaching through Children's Books.
Sharon Coatney Sharon Coatney is a senior acquisitions editor for ABC-CLIO (Libraries Unlimited/Linworth), former AASL President, and a former school librarian from Kansas.
Michael Diltz Michael Diltz is the school librarian at Willamette Primary School in West Linn, Oregon.
Kristin Fontichiaro Kristin Fontichiaro is a clinical assistant professor and coordinator of the School Library Media specialization at the University of Michigan School of Information.
Buffy J. Hamilton Buffy J. Hamilton is a school librarian at Creekview High School in Canton, Georgia.
Violet H. Harada Violet H. Harada, Ph.D., is a professor in the University of Hawaii Library and Information Science Program, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Carl A. Harvey II Carl A. Harvey II is the school librarian at North Elementary School in Noblesville, Indiana, and the immediate past-president for the American Association of School Librarians (AASL). He can be reached at: carl@carl-harvey.com.
Sandra Hughes-Hassell Sandra Hughes-Hassell, Ph.D., is a professor for the School of Information & Library Science at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Shannon McClintock Miller Shannon McClintock Miller is the district school librarian and technology coordinator at Van Meter Community School in Van Meter, Iowa.
Judi Moreillon Judi Moreillon, Ph.D., assistant professor in the School of Library and Information Studies, Texas Woman's University, Denton, has served as a school librarian at every instructional level. In addition, she has been a classroom teacher, literacy coach, and district-level librarian mentor. Judi teaches courses in instructional partnerships, multimedia resources and services, children's literature, and storytelling. Her research agenda focuses on the professional development of school librarians for the leadership and instructional partner roles. Judi has two published professional books for school librarians and classroom teachers on coteaching reading comprehension strategies and conducts workshops on this topic. She has published two books for children and families.
Blanche Woolls Blanche Woolls, Ph.D., is professor and director emeritus of the School of Library and Information Science San Jose State University and Consulting Editor, Libraries Unlimited.
